Your Life Purpose

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen. "Matthew 28:19-20

Matthew 28:19-20 gives us the Great Commission. The counterpart of that is the Great Commandment: “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind . . . you shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:37-39). These two passages give us the five basic tasks of a believer’s life.

Purpose #1 is Worship. You are created to love the Lord with all your heart. It doesn’t matter if you are alone, with a cell group or with 20,000 people. You are to worship the Lord your God and serve Him only (Matt. 4:10). Notice that worship comes before service. Learn to celebrate His presence and enjoy expressing your love to Him.

Purpose #2 is Ministry. You are created to minister to people. My wife, Sun, has a personal life motto: “To find a hurt and heal it, to find a need and meet it.” That, in a nutshell, is what ministry is all about. Without meaningful, active ministry, your spiritual life would just sit, soak and sour.

Purpose #3 is Evangelism. You exist to communicate the good news of the gospel. You are an ambassador for Christ and your life mission is to evangelize the world. You are to tell the whole world of Christ’s coming, His death on the cross, His resurrection and His promise to return a second time. Remember that this is the Great Commission, not the Great Suggestion!

Purpose #4 is Fellowship. You are called to be water baptized and be incorporated into the church as an active member. Baptism is not merely a symbol of salvation, it is a symbol of fellowship. As a Christian, you are called to belong, not just to believe. Don’t be a spectator of whatever God is doing in His house, be a full participator!

Purpose #5 is Discipleship. The Great Commission is not to make converts but to “make disciples.” You are not automatically “born again” into discipleship. You must make a conscious decision to really want to be discipled. That means you must make the effort to be taught the Word of God and be trained to skillfully serve Him.

I am sure you are happy to know that City Harvest Church’s mission statement is: “To build a church with a strong spiritual atmosphere of faith and purity, where every member is released into ministry, discipled in the Great Commandment, to obey the Great Commission.” That is the purpose of your life. That is the purpose of our church.

Hey peeps!

2009 is ending soon, in less than two weeks.
Most of us would probably be super busy at this time. There are so many fun happenings to look forward to, eg. Christmas! Wildx2 Wet + Appreciation, Zone appreciation (:
Many of us are overseas.
Many of us are working.

Maybe some of us wouldn't have the time to really quiet down and really spend time with God through prayer in our busy lives.
Some of us might feel that with so many things to do, so many matters to handle, stress is the only thing they're feeling right now. Some might also worry about what the next year holds in store for them.

But God is there for you!
W519's superpower lies in the Power of God.
Ps. 31:24 "Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the LORD." and
Matt 11:28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."

Trust your problems, negative thoughts, and worries to God, and indeed He will give us rest (:
So that we can end this awesome year with a bang - and a light heart ;D

Hey! ladies and men out there!

I have been in Jams Church ministry for 5months and 2days already!
Hence it mean i should start sharing how i really feel while serving the ministry.
Just to let you know more about Jams Ministry.
Jams church is for those with is physically and metally disable people.
I feel their just like us, no much different but maybe their learning speed is not as fast as us, keep on repeating the Question(s) they ask.

Im serving in one of the busing in Jams(w01)
I get to know them even more while busing.
we will always have a mini chats session or a mini quizs session.
they all are so full w live and smiles always on their face, never fail to put smile on my face too!
Though, they are physically and metally disable in some way but they still have the positive mindset in life. That really encourage me.

Joining into the ministry, reaching others needs, learning how to handle them.
really test my patient but i enjoy what im doing now.

They just so simple..............so SMILES!

Fasting

1 Corinthians 10:13, "You are tempted in the same way that everyone else is tempted. But God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and he will show you how to escape from your temptation"
Hey friends,I came across this verse while reading the bible and it really encouraged me alot while I was fasting.(:
When you are fasting, you need to be praying at the same time.
The point of a fast is to grow closer to God and get in touch with the Holy Spirit. It is a time to listen and pray.
Every time you turn to do whatever it is you have given up, you remind yourself to spend time in prayer and focus on the Lord.

Fasting had made me closer to God,even though I feel physically tired at times but fasting reminded of God and the reasons why I am fasting .
God is an awesome God and he will reward you for it ! (:

Let's really believe that as we continue to Pray and Fast for our break-throughs and revival in W519,there would break-throughs coming our way .
And also,let's not belittle what God is able to do for our cellgroup!(:

"I can do everything through him who gives me strength" -Philippians 4:13

The army of God- part 1

The army of God- part 1

Read: 1 Chronicles 12
Talks about the army of David
In this passage, the bible mentions that the army of David was that like the Army of God.

1 Chronicles 12:
"For at that time they came to David day by day to help him,
until it was a great army, like the army of God."

Who were the kinds of people in David’s army?
They were men of mighty valor and very skilled
They were not just fighters, or even soldiers, they were warriors
The bible refers to the people who joined David’s army as warriors.
There is a difference between a fighter, a soldier and a warrior.

A Fighter
-is usually someone who chooses to fight for a purely ego-centric reason.
-He or she is seeking to gain something.
-A fighter has a need to be "right," "best," "toughest," and a myriad of other self-grandizing reasons that drive them to "compete" for a "number-one" position.
-And, whether it's a fist-fight, all-out war, or an argument between relationships, if the goal is to "win" and cause the other to "lose," this is the mindset of the fighter.

A Soldier
-it's a job
-Looking for a career
-And, while many may have a driving need to fight, most, regardless of whether they volunteered or were called to army, is under subjection to the country’s orders.
-Where the fighter picks his own fights and does so for his own reasons, the soldier is a tool of the country and has no say in who he must fight or even whether the cause is just or agreeable to him.

A Warrior
-the reason that a warrior chooses to fight is almost always for a cause larger-than-self.
-A warrior understands the true scope and priorities in warfare and does not jump too quickly in deciding to engage a so-called enemy.
-And, while a warrior may also be a soldier, he or she chooses this path for the same "big-picture" reason.
-He or she is free to choose the side that they will fight for, as opposed to having their fate chosen for them.
-The true warrior's concern is not for political "right-ness" or "self-righteousness."
-It is for the protection of what he or she has decided is important and worth protecting.

David’s warriors were people like that.
Are you a fighter- fight for yourself, soldier-follower or a warrior-a decision maker, knowing right from wrong, fighting for something larger than yourself?
We got to move up to the next level, have an increased capacity
We are all part of this army of God.
When you move, God moves.

Just like in David’s times, his warriors fought for land,
We fight for the salvation of our friends, for the church & for the kingdom of God.
It is about your heart - intention – and your focus –
It is about going from selfishness to selfless-ness.

Are you prepared to fight this battle with God?
& to win the harvest?
Let’s be strong & positive. Have Faith!
Prepare our hearts,
Let’s be warriors!

Standing in the Frontline- God's battle

CGM was awesome on 4th Dec.
Clement preached a word on Kindness!

He shared about this vision that god spoke to him!
He saw a picture of the enemy approaching him,
and he was the one standing at the frontline of the war.
Lying around him were soldiers that fell but yet he was still standing.
And God spoke to him this verse:

" Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." -psalms 73:25-26

God is great is'nt it?
Just like how's he has spoken to Clement.
God can speak to you too!
He can give you visions that will propel you further in God!

Let's run this race with our leader! :D

After svc and station games, We went KFC for dinner and played a game
TEST YOUR CHINESE! Each one of us had to say a chinese word and the next person has to say another chinese word after the last word of the previous chinese word.

(eg:its 1000x1000,double portion),growth and moving on.
Tap into God's mind and heart.
See what he has in stored for each and every one of you.

When a couple dances,
They dance in step with one another.
So that one wouldnt be faster or slower and that one would'nt fall.
Be in step with God.
Dance with him, together with him,
you'll see the power of God moving through you!

Be on the edge of your seats.
Be prepared, Get ready.
Because God is going to use you.
Don't let him pass you by.

Sowing into his kingdom, prepares us for greater things.
Faithfulness is the cornerstone of character!

I was reading online, and read about this vision that this man had,
Its Very very impactful!

Vision of Treasury Printing Press May 13, 2007, Austin, TX by Bruce Cook

"Thank you Father. Thank you.
I’m seeing a vision of a printing press.
And it’s the kind that prints money.
It was like the printing press of a government, like the US government,
in one of the federal mints.

And I saw all this money—these dollar bills and different
denominations—all these green bills of currency were being printed.

And the Lord said
that is just man’s measure; that is man’s speed at printing money.
The Lord said, It’s a very low measure, as I measure things.
And the Lord said, Most people would think that is unimaginable wealth.

but the Lord says,
If you tap into what I am doing,
if you tap into my mind and my heart,
if you look and see the measure of increase that’s in this season and this hour,
the Lord said, the measure of man’s multiplication of wealth will pale in
comparison to my measure of multiplication.

The Lord says you can at least count the money that comes off of a US mint,
treasury mint, printing press.

The Lord says,
when you tap into my level of increase and multiplication,
you cannot even count it.
He said look back in Genesis at the story of Joseph.

He said he had to stop counting it. It was without measure;
it was too much [Gen. 41: 49].
He said,
That’s the order of magnitude of my increase, of my multiplication.

The Lord said,
I’m looking for people that would have that faith,
I’m looking for people that would have that vision,
I’m looking for people who would be willing to walk on the water,
and run toward me, and trust me.

The Lord said
I am releasing a new generation of millionaires,
of billionaires, of entrepreneurs, of pioneers,
of those who would exercise dominion
in particular spheres and sectors of society,
those who would shape the culture.

The Lord says, My eyes are looking to and fro in the earth
to see who is humbling themselves, to see who is on their face,
to see who would give me the glory,
to see who is desperate to see a move of God in the earth.

The Lord said,
I am passing out mantles. I am passing out assignments.
And the Lord says,
Don’t let me pass you by."

Burning Passion!

What is a burning passion?

-It means to have great desire in your heart for something.

-A great want.

Dictionary says: its an outburst of strong emotion or feeling!

God himself said in his word that he is a consuming fire.

-Deut 4:24: " I am a consuming fire...."

-In fact the holy spirit is likened to Fire too!

Elijah and the contest with the people of Baal

1 Kings 18:21

"...How long are you going to waver between two opinions?

If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!..."

1 Kings 18:17-40 -What happened?
-Elijah challenges the priests of Baal to a contest
-450 priests of Baal make sacrifices, even hurt themselves, to get Baal's attention
-nothing happens after several hours
-Elijah prepares his sacrifice
-He pours water on it three times, and prepares a moat to keep the water in
-This makes the offering difficult to set fire to
-Elijah calls on God once
-The Lord sent fire which not only consumed the wet offering, but also all the wood, the stones, -the very dirt under the alter, and also took all the water!
-The people recognize God and worship him
-They destroy all the false prophets who had led them into idol worship.

Dearest W519!

Knowing God is real is one thing, choosing to follow him is another!

- your idol may not be another God, but it could be your studies, games friends etc.

-Who should we be focusing on?

-Don’t be double minded!

-Lets Go all out to love him with real passion that lasts a lifetime!

A quote from Dr Yonggi Cho:
“You have to have a burning desire in your heart.
If you do not have a burning desire,
then wait and ask God to impart his desire to your heart.
God does not like the lukewarm,
he specializes in the red hot.
If you have that red hot burning desire
then you are going to have results.”

-Perhaps some of you used to hot for god.

-Today you feel you are turning lukewarm.

-But God wants to touch you and refresh your spirit once again!

What can we Catch?

-The fire of God is contagious and can be caught.

- Only with this fire and passion, our CG can grow.

- Let’s send this vibration to the rest of the CG.

- Build up an atmosphere of the fire of God in W519.

-With sharing and exchanging of God’s word

- Initiate prayer for one another

- Organize outings to integrate new friends and build unity

-Evangelize and spread the fire of God to others

-so that they can have a chance to also live fulfilling lives like you!

Hey guys, Just wanna share this video with you.
A very familiar story but a powerful reminder.

It is about a man named John Stephen Akhwari who was a tanzanian.
He was a runner in the Olympics in year 1968.
What happened was that he had fell terribly in the early phase of the race,
injuring the right side of his body, and very obviously could not compete for a medal.

As he ran and entered the stadium, a rising roar of the spectators began.
He still had to make a last 400m
around the entire stadium track before he could reach the finish line.
On his face was no longer the grimace and anguish.

It was just sheer determination,
mixed with bone deep fatigue of putting up with the pain of a marathon,
and pain of flesh hanging off bones.
Shoes and sock all bloodied from the accident and running on the road.

Rather than quitting, a voice within him told him to keep on running.
Finally, 2 hours later, he finished the race and crossed the line.
He was the last to finish,
but the competition had won him the title of 'a King without a crown'.

After the whole marathon, the reporter asked him.
' Why did you still continue to run
when you actually had a bad fall right at the beginning?'.
And he simply answered,

'My country did not send me 5000 miles to enter the race,
but my country sent me 5000 miles to finish the race.'

I was very impacted by this video I saw and how it reflected our walk with God.
God didn't save you just to enter the race,
but he sent us to finish the race for him.

Clement's msn nick "fight the good fight"
reminded me about never falling out of the race no matter what.
No one said it best than paul said it in 1 Timothy 4:7 :
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

W519 you're not alone!
Along with God, counting on his strength & spirit,
Lets persevere, endure and presss on together as a cell group!

The power of conviction CG 12.07.09

What I caught and learnt from CG.....

"slumped into the place of darkness. satan thrived.
failures seemed to speak louder than all the other voices.
pitfalls and disappointments. bitterness and hurts.
"you can't do it."
"are you really able?"
"Does God really hear you?"
Like an echoing room, the voices bounced off from wall to wall."

remembering what I learnt in CG taught by our CGL Clement on sunday.
The power of conviction is The power of FIRMLY believing and having simple faith.
We learnt that we need to have convictions
1. That are personal
2. That can withstand the test of time.
3. That is evident to others(living out what you believe in. )
4. That pleases God

During Cg, we sang the song FIRST.
"My first love forever you will be
My first love you're the breath in me.
My first love the world can never take from mee
My COVENENT with you Jesus...."

What is a covenent? It is a promise.
Remember when God showed noah a rainbow and said i will never again pour rain to destroy the people?
Because there was a great flood that came to wipe out the whole land.
It was like a signature on a contract.
A writing in black and white. But except in this case, it was a 7 coloured Rainbow.
A conviction, is something like a covenent.
It is a promise that is written in your heart.

Questions I ask myself constantly:
What keeps me going?
What is the ultimate purpose and motives of my heart?
Most importantly, Do you truly believe in him? the mighty one.

This is My personal Conviction that GOD IS REAL.
It is MY personal Conviction with God to
1. Stay in church,
2. Stay committed (withstand the test of time.)
3. To be a loving person. (evident to others.)
4. and to Be willing to serve. (pleases God.)

Hey W519!!

I believe that many of us are blessed by Song of Solomon church wide bible study, and I'm sure you guys have personal revelations and breakthroughs that you're dying to share.

SO! We are having this mini competition, everyone will write what have you learn, how has S.O.S impacted you, and share how it can also encourage others. Don't be a Dead sea where there's a lot of minerals but the water doesn't flow, but be a sea of Galilee, where the water keeps flowing and is fill with life. =)

We woke up around 7-9am in the morning.

I think if im not wrong this was taken in the morning.

HAHA very funny.

In case no one could tell thats him haha.

After that we headed to JP for some brunch. [breakfast-lunch]

Then we suddenly decided we got nothing to do.

Super Duper early,

We went to watch the movie Ghosts of Girlfriend's past together.

This show was hmmm okay uh, about marraige. loll

watch yourself to know the rest.

Before going into the movies, we had two lucky draw we could play

with to see what we could win and guesss what?!~

We reached the HTNS adventure chalet!~

The leaders gave us a briefing before we settle down and

Finally we reached bt batok MRT,

FIRST Sharing & PM

Heya!

On Thurs 11 June, W519 had our FIRST sharing session cum prayer meeting!
It was indeed a great time together and had an awesome bonding too!

Our girls had a time dedicated to sharing our creative ideas for the connect group
and had some chatting too at huizhen's house.
Then we went over to my house for the official SHARING
by our new beloved CGL Clement!

He addressed a few issues, concerning armour bearing and humility.
milki joined us too and was saying amen ALOT. lolll.
we really felt the presence of God in the place.
and we learnt alot.

Armour bearing was really to stand in the gap and
to act as a shield for the CG and our leaders.
Humility a time to really humble ourselves and learn.
Clement talked about accountability too.
How we need to account in order to receive help and protection.

Also we prayed for a few items:
W519 unity
celebrity weekend
Nfs
Chalet

It was an enjoyable time because after that we went for churchwide PM together
and had alot of fun in the bus, talking nonsense and crapping. HAHA

Let's continue to grow together!

Hey everyone! Just read Pastor Kong's blog and was greatly impacted by his latest post. Want to share with you all. Let us not feel that we're too young for revival, King Josiah was only 15 when he started out. Let's be a "Josiah" of our generation!

Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him. 2 Kings 23:25

During Josiah’s reign, Judah experienced its greatest revival years since the days of David and Solomon. What precipitated the great move of God? First of all, when Josiah was only 16 years old, he was seeking the Lord with all his heart (2 Chr. 34:3). Every revival starts by hungry hearts seeking God with great fervency.

Secondly, a revival always involves repentance and cleansing. When Josiah was 20 years old, he began to clean up Judah and Jerusalem, destroying the heathen altars and the shameful idols on the hills.

Thirdly, when he was 26 years old, Josiah started repairing the house of the Lord (34:8). To seek God’s kingdom first means that His house must become the First House in your life. The house of God is the gate of heaven (Gen. 28:17). Everything you do should be arranged around His house.

Fourthly, there was a restoration of God’s Word. As the workers were cleaning the temple, they found an obscure book that no one had ever heard of-the Bible. As the king listened to his secretary read the Scriptures, he was moved by the fear of the Lord (2 Kin. 22:11). He then read out all the words of the Book of the Covenant in the hearing of the people (23:2).

Fifthly, every revival needs a good spiritual leader. Huldah the prophetess said of Josiah, “Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you” (22:19).

Sixthly, Josiah moved the whole nation toward God. He motivated all the people to follow the Lord and keep His commandments with all their heart and soul (23:3).

Seventhly, Josiah restored true worship among the people. He organized the most elaborate Passover celebration ever since the days of judges (23:22-23). Josiah was such an outstanding king that “before him there was no king like him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him” (23:25). Would you decide to rise up to be a “Josiah” of your generation?
