Hey guys, Just wanna share this video with you.
A very familiar story but a powerful reminder.

It is about a man named John Stephen Akhwari who was a tanzanian.
He was a runner in the Olympics in year 1968.
What happened was that he had fell terribly in the early phase of the race,
injuring the right side of his body, and very obviously could not compete for a medal.

As he ran and entered the stadium, a rising roar of the spectators began.
He still had to make a last 400m
around the entire stadium track before he could reach the finish line.
On his face was no longer the grimace and anguish.

It was just sheer determination,
mixed with bone deep fatigue of putting up with the pain of a marathon,
and pain of flesh hanging off bones.
Shoes and sock all bloodied from the accident and running on the road.

Rather than quitting, a voice within him told him to keep on running.
Finally, 2 hours later, he finished the race and crossed the line.
He was the last to finish,
but the competition had won him the title of 'a King without a crown'.

After the whole marathon, the reporter asked him.
' Why did you still continue to run
when you actually had a bad fall right at the beginning?'.
And he simply answered,

'My country did not send me 5000 miles to enter the race,
but my country sent me 5000 miles to finish the race.'

I was very impacted by this video I saw and how it reflected our walk with God.
God didn't save you just to enter the race,
but he sent us to finish the race for him.

Clement's msn nick "fight the good fight"
reminded me about never falling out of the race no matter what.
No one said it best than paul said it in 1 Timothy 4:7 :
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

What I caught and learnt from CG.....

"slumped into the place of darkness. satan thrived.
failures seemed to speak louder than all the other voices.
pitfalls and disappointments. bitterness and hurts.
"you can't do it."
"are you really able?"
"Does God really hear you?"
Like an echoing room, the voices bounced off from wall to wall."

Just then God reminded me,
"Your mind is a powerful battlefield."
To overcome or be overcomed?
what are you listening?
What do you hear?

Your mind. Whatever it hears it will react.
Your heart, what do you believe? What do you feel?
Is your life based on feelings or decisions?

remembering what I learnt in CG taught by our CGL Clement on sunday.
The power of conviction is The power of FIRMLY believing and having simple faith.
We learnt that we need to have convictions
1. That are personal
2. That can withstand the test of time.
3. That is evident to others(living out what you believe in. )
4. That pleases God

During Cg, we sang the song FIRST.
"My first love forever you will be
My first love you're the breath in me.
My first love the world can never take from mee
My COVENENT with you Jesus...."

What is a covenent? It is a promise.
Remember when God showed noah a rainbow and said i will never again pour rain to destroy the people?
Because there was a great flood that came to wipe out the whole land.
It was like a signature on a contract.
A writing in black and white. But except in this case, it was a 7 coloured Rainbow.
A conviction, is something like a covenent.
It is a promise that is written in your heart.

Questions I ask myself constantly:
What keeps me going?
What is the ultimate purpose and motives of my heart?
Most importantly, Do you truly believe in him? the mighty one.

This is My personal Conviction that GOD IS REAL.
It is MY personal Conviction with God to
1. Stay in church,
2. Stay committed (withstand the test of time.)
3. To be a loving person. (evident to others.)
4. and to Be willing to serve. (pleases God.)

Hey W519!!

I believe that many of us are blessed by Song of Solomon church wide bible study, and I'm sure you guys have personal revelations and breakthroughs that you're dying to share.

SO! We are having this mini competition, everyone will write what have you learn, how has S.O.S impacted you, and share how it can also encourage others. Don't be a Dead sea where there's a lot of minerals but the water doesn't flow, but be a sea of Galilee, where the water keeps flowing and is fill with life. =)

- small prizes to be won for top 3 sharers (awarded during cell group meeting on sunday)

That aside, let's be really excited for LYL the service this saturday, there'll be boardgames and food after the service!(refer to previous post). And also our first Cell Group Meeting as W519 this sunday! Let's rock the (Herman's) house down! lol. Invite all you friends and lets go for E1R1!
